Celtic South Ltd is a family-based business with Karin and Wayne sharing the directorship with their sons Andrew, Gareth, Kurt, and Warwick. The management of the business is carried out by their sons since 2015 with assistance from other family members.
Stewart Properties Ltd in about 1998 which owned the real estate of Stewart Construction Ltd and when Wayne exited Stewart Construction Ltd in 2004, he retained his shares in Stewart Properties Ltd and, over time he purchased the remaining shares.
At that time, Stewart Properties owned of 50% Crombie Lockwood House in Moray Place in conjunction with Business Projects, and also 50% of Motel on York in conjunction with the Business Projects. In 2006 the name was changed to Celtic South Ltd which now owns several buildings in Otago.
Celtic South Ltd concentrates on owning quality properties maintained to a high standard, and values their cordial relationships with their tenants.
The aim of the Company is to continue to purchase quality buildings throughout New Zealand and to involve family members, including the third generation in management wherever possible. To achieve this, most of the profits are retained for continued development but contributions are also made to the Bowen Family Trust for the benefit of the Bowen Family and to selected charities.
